Save The Box Turtle

How we can help

I have came up with a few ideas on how we can help the Box Turtles with the help of my classmates:

Letter to the Editor in local news
Check constructions sites for Eastern Box Turtle before construction
Awareness signs
Turtle crossing
Letters to Government...
... or enter Government
Write Non-Fiction book (where I excel)
and last but not least; when you find a turtle; place a tracker on it; just like Dan The Man ( and hope they do not go near roads).

Global Warming and Eastern Box Turtles...

I am not only concerned for the fate of the Eastern Box Turtle, but also for the fate of this very planet! I would like to know how the Eastern Box Turtle will be affected by Global Warming. When I find out the results; I will not only publish them here; but also in my Non-Fiction book: The Truth about global Warming. In this book I shall reveal the truth of Global Warming and how we can fight it. I have also found out that in the 2003 600 page report the EPA had done; only one paragraph was devoted to global warming. I am honestly very suprised.

Dan the Man!

Dan the Man was a turtle that a classmate of mine found in the forest. He was killed by a car, completely crushed. He did not have a chance.

The Eastern Box Turtle

What is the Eastern Box Turtle you may ask when you come to this site. Don't worry. I; Turtle Boy; shall give you all the answers. The Eastern Box Turtle is an endangered species of Box Turtles that my class is researching. I have learned a lot about them, and I'm sure you will too. One major reason Eastern Box Turtyles are dying is because when they are crossing roads they have been hit and crushed, just like one a friend of mine found. He named the turtle Dan the Man. Another turtle is Waldo. He has a radio transmitter on his back so scientists can find him and learn how big of a home range the Box Turtles need to survive.
